2027 LNh Women's Ranch Retreat
5 Days of Personal Development, Performance-Focused Horsemanship, & Community
September 15-19, 2027 • Near Johnstown, Nebraska
Limited to Five Participants
Come spend five days stepping away from your normal routine to invest in yourself, enjoy your horse, and raise the standard of what you’re capable of together.
The LNH Ranch Retreat is an immersive personal development and horsemanship experience for women who want to keep growing, both in and out of the saddle.
Through structured personal development sessions, focused horsemanship instruction, miles spent horseback through the Sandhills, honest conversations, new experiences, and a small group of women willing to challenge themselves, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, reflect, try some things outside your comfort zone, and come home with new tools and a different perspective.
You don’t have to be a competitor. You don’t need to have life figured out. And you certainly don’t need to show up with a perfect horse.
You do need to be willing to participate, learn, be challenged, and make the most of the experience.
If you’re ready to invest five days in developing yourself, becoming a more capable horsewoman, and actually enjoying the horse you work so hard to have, this Retreat was built for you.

Is This Retreat For You?
The LNH Ranch Retreat is for the woman who loves her horse, takes her horsemanship seriously, and knows there is always another level to reach, both in the saddle and in herself.
You don’t have to be chasing a buckle or preparing for the show pen. You might ride trails, work on the ranch, compete, or simply want to become a more knowledgeable and capable horsewoman. What matters is that you want to improve, you’re willing to be coached, and you’re open to taking an honest look at the things that may be helping or holding you back.
Because this Retreat isn’t only about becoming better with your horse.
It’s also about becoming more aware of how you handle pressure, uncertainty, frustration, fear, confidence, decision-making, and discomfort. Horses tend to bring those things to the surface pretty quickly, which gives us a powerful opportunity to work on them in real time.
This Retreat may be a good fit for you if you’re ready to:
-
Raise the standard of your horsemanship and better understand the why behind what you’re doing
-
Work through areas where you or your horse have become stuck, uncertain, or inconsistent
-
Develop more confidence, feel, awareness, and adaptability in the saddle
-
Get outside the comfort of your home arena and put your horsemanship to use in a different environment
-
Become more aware of the habits, thought patterns, fears, or assumptions influencing the way you respond to challenges
-
Get clearer about what you want, what matters to you, and where you may need to make changes
-
Become more comfortable making decisions, setting boundaries, and trusting yourself
-
Learn how to recognize when discomfort is something to avoid and when it may be something you need to work through
-
Challenge the tendency to wait until you feel completely ready before taking the next step
-
Participate fully in personal development sessions, horsemanship sessions, group conversations, and the experiences we work through together
-
Learn alongside women who are also willing to be honest, stretch themselves, and keep growing
-
Step away from your normal routine long enough to reflect on where you are, where you want to go, and what needs to happen next
This isn’t five days of sitting around talking about what you’d like to change.
We’ll ride. We’ll study horsemanship. We’ll have conversations that make you think. We’ll work through challenges, ask better questions, identify patterns, spend time outside the arena, and give you opportunities to put what you’re learning into practice.
Some of those lessons will show up through your horse.
Others may have very little to do with horses at all.
You’ll still have room to slow down, enjoy the Sandhills, laugh around the fire, and spend time with your horse. But the purpose is bigger than simply getting away for a few days.
The goal is to leave with a better understanding of your horse, a better understanding of yourself, and a clearer idea of how you want to move forward with both.

What You'll Walk Away With
Five days isn’t going to completely transform your horse, solve every problem, or give you all the answers to life.
But five intentional days can give you the space to learn, reflect, challenge some of your thinking, enjoy your horse, connect with other women, and return home with a different perspective than the one you arrived with.
Here’s what I hope you’ll leave the Ranch Retreat with:
A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF YOURSELF
Through our personal development sessions, conversations, activities, and experiences throughout the week, you’ll have opportunities to recognize patterns in how you think, make decisions, handle pressure, respond to discomfort, and approach the things you want to change.
CONFIDENCE IN YOUR ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD
Not because every fear or uncertainty magically disappears, but because you’ve had opportunities to challenge yourself, make decisions, work through discomfort, and recognize that you’re often more capable than you give yourself credit for.
MORE TIME ENJOYING YOUR HORSE
We’ll spend time riding through the pastures, walking the creek, exploring the Sandhills, and putting on miles without feeling like every minute in the saddle has to be a formal training session. For many women, that kind of uninterrupted riding time is hard to come by in everyday life.
MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS, NEW PERSPECTIVES
Some of the most valuable moments of the week may happen during a planned session. Others may happen over supper, around the fire, on horseback, or because another woman asks a question that makes you think about something differently.
GREATER CLARITY ABOUT WHAT MATTERS TO YOU
Stepping outside your normal routine creates room to think about where you are, where you want to go, and whether the way you’re currently spending your time, energy, and attention actually supports it.
USEFUL HORSEMANSHIP TOOLS TO TAKE HOME
Our clinic-style sessions on the ground and in the saddle aren’t designed to turn the week into an intensive training clinic. Instead, they’re meant to give you practical exercises, concepts, and another piece of the puzzle that you can continue working with long after the Retreat is over.
EXPERIENCE SOMETHING NEW WITH YOUR HORSE
Getting outside your normal arena and routine can reveal things you may not notice at home, but it can also remind you how much fun it is to just go ride.
A COMMUNITY OF WOMEN GROWING WITH YOU
You’ll spend five days with women who may come from very different backgrounds but share an interest in becoming better with their horses, better in their lives, and more intentional about where they’re headed.
You probably won’t pull out of the driveway on the final day with everything figured out.
That isn’t the goal of this Retreat.
Instead, it’s my hope that you’ll leave with a few more tools, a little more clarity, some things worth thinking about, more appreciation for the horse underneath you, and the motivation to keep working on both your horsemanship and yourself long after the Retreat is over.

What You'll Experience
The Ranch Retreat is intentionally designed to blend personal development, horsemanship, time in the saddle, meaningful conversation, new experiences, and enough breathing room to actually enjoy all of it.
While the exact schedule is always subject to change, our days generally begin by focusing on you before we shift our attention toward our horses.

Personal Development
Mornings at the Ranch Retreat are about more than grabbing breakfast and rushing out to saddle.
We’ll spend intentional time learning, reflecting, talking, and sometimes challenging the way we’ve been thinking about ourselves and our lives.
Throughout the week, we may explore topics like confidence and self-belief, habits, boundaries, health, fear and discomfort, personality and self-awareness, priorities, decision-making, goals, and what it actually takes to create change.
Some sessions are led by me. Others may incorporate books, videos, activities, outside perspectives, and plenty of group discussion.
This isn’t about me standing at the front of the room pretending to have all the answers.
The goal is to introduce ideas, ask thought-provoking questions, create honest conversations, and give you the opportunity to decide what applies to your own life and what you want to do with it.

Horsemanship You Can Take Home
We’ll also spend focused time with our horses through clinic-style sessions both on the ground and in the saddle.
The goal isn’t to cram an entire horsemanship education into five days or promise some earth-shattering breakthrough. Instead, we’ll work on practical concepts, exercises, and problem-solving strategies that may strengthen something you already know, expose a hole you hadn’t noticed, or give you another piece of the puzzle to take home and continue developing.
Because the group is limited to only five women, there’s also room for individual questions and coaching within those sessions.
Miles Outside the Arena
We’ll spend time horseback through the pastures, along the creek, down gravel roads, and across the Sandhills.
These rides are intentionally more relaxed. They aren’t another clinic session disguised as a trail ride.
They’re about putting useful miles on your horse, getting outside your normal environment, visiting with the women riding beside you, experiencing some beautiful country, and having the opportunity to simply enjoy being horseback.

Experiences That Push You a Little
Not all personal growth happens sitting around a table talking about it.
Throughout the week, I also like to incorporate experiences that get us moving, thinking, laughing, trying something different, and occasionally stepping outside our comfort zones.
That might mean one of our Walk & Talks, taking the plunge into a cold bath, heading into town together, trying something new with your horse, or another experience that gives us something worth talking about afterward.
Community, Meals, & the Moments In-Between
With only five women attending, you aren’t disappearing into a crowd.
We’ll eat together, ride together, learn together, laugh together, and have plenty of time for conversations that continue well beyond whatever was technically on the schedule.
Some of the best moments of the Retreat may happen in those spaces between the planned activities: over breakfast, walking back from a session, sitting around after supper, or riding beside someone who sees something differently than you do.

Time to Actually Enjoy Being Here
The days are full, but I don’t want every minute scheduled to death.
There is value in stepping away from your normal responsibilities, spending more time outside, enjoying your horse, taking in the Sandhills, and giving yourself enough space to actually absorb what you’re learning and experiencing.
The Ranch Retreat is designed to make you think, stretch you in a few places, give you useful things to take home, and expose you to some new experiences.
But it’s also supposed to be a really good five days with your horse.
What's Included
Your Ranch Retreat registration covers much more than simply showing up with your horse for five days.
Included in your Retreat experience:
-
Daily personal development sessions, discussions, activities, and experiences designed to get you thinking, reflecting, and putting some of what we talk about into practice
-
Horsemanship instruction on the ground and in the saddle, with a small enough group for questions, individual coaching, and attention to what you and your horse may need
-
Plenty of time horseback outside the arena, including riding through the pastures, walking the creek, traveling the gravel roads, and experiencing the Nebraska Sandhills from between your horse’s ears
-
Group experiences throughout the week, including our Walk & Talks, challenges, outings, and opportunities to step outside your normal routine and try something different
-
Meals throughout the Retreat, with the exception of Tuesday evening’s meal in town
-
Accommodations for your horse for the duration of your stay
-
On-site dry camping, if you’d like to stay right here at the ranch
-
A golden-hour portrait session with your horse in the Sandhills
-
A group limited to just five women, keeping the experience personal and leaving plenty of room for conversation, questions, coaching, and getting to know the women you’re sharing the week with
A Few Things to Plan For
Tuesday evening’s meal in town, purchases during our potential coffee shop/boutique/western store outing, and any off-site lodging you choose are not included in your registration.
Because Sunday is a half day, breakfast and dinner will be provided before we wrap up for the afternoon.
Once you arrive, most of the big pieces are taken care of. You can settle in, enjoy your horse, participate fully, and make the most of your five days here.

Meet Lexy
Hey there, I’m Lexy Nuesch, a Nebraska horse trainer, coach, and lifelong student of horsemanship and personal growth.
For more than 12 years, I’ve been developing horses for the ranch, trail, and performance arena, with an increasing focus on cowhorse and ranch versatility. My approach is rooted in performance-focused horsemanship: developing soft, responsive, versatile horses and helping the people who ride them become more capable, thoughtful horsewomen.
To me, performance-focused doesn’t mean you have to compete. It means continually raising the standard of what you and your horse are capable of, then building the skills, confidence, and understanding to make that hold together outside of perfect circumstances, whether you’re inside an arena or miles from one.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I was just as interested in developing the woman as I was the horse.
Horses have a way of exposing where we lack confidence, where we get frustrated, where we avoid discomfort, and where we need to grow. That is part of what makes horsemanship such a powerful vehicle for personal development, and why this retreat goes well beyond simply spending a few days riding horses.
I don’t believe I’m some kind of guru who has life or horsemanship completely figured out. I’m still learning, competing, challenging myself, making mistakes, and working on becoming better too. My role is to coach you honestly, ask thought-provoking questions, share what I’ve learned through both the wins and the hard-earned lessons, and give you the space and tools to keep developing your own horsemanship and yourself.
That combination of better horsemanship, higher standards, personal growth, and a community of women willing to challenge themselves and work on all of it together is exactly what the LNH Ranch Retreat was created for.

If you’re considering joining us for the 2027 Ranch Retreat and still have questions after checking out the FAQs, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help you decide whether the Retreat is the right fit for you and your horse.
I’d love to welcome you to the Nebraska Sandhills for five days of better horsemanship, personal growth, meaningful conversations, and time spent alongside a group of women who are committed to becoming better.
See you on the ranch,
Lexy Nuesch
