What a hunk of a horse! 😍
This week was a big week for Max! As you know, he had his first & second rides. His first ride was quite textbook. He was a bit worried about me reaching back to rub his hindquarters but got over that by the end of the ride.

Today, his second ride without a round pen helper went well. When switching from left to right, he did want to park himself in the center of the round pen. It took a bit to get him moving back out though I'm not terribly worried about it. As we discussed it can be tough for a horse to really want to free up in a round pen, plus he's smart enough to remember what part of the round pen I dismounted in yesterday.

Next week, we'll briefly begin in the round pen before moving out into the arena. There, we'll work on One Rein Stops, Cruising, Follow the Fence, & Yielding the Hindquarters from a Standstill.
Next week's update will be posted on Friday night.
