Hero: October 7

This week, we spent some quality time in the round pen & continued to work on Desensitizing, Yielding the HQ & FQ, Flexing, Backing, Lunging Stage 1, & introduced Sending. I can see that Hero is going to be very similar to Rowdy & Slate in not having a lot of desire to get up & go initially, so from the get-go, I'm really focusing on his responsiveness to picking up the trot or lope & really focusing on getting to practice those transitions. While he hasn't put any real effort into it, he has thought about jumping out a few times when he looks for a way to get out of loping.

Next week, we'll continue to work inside & outside of the round pen. I would probably shoot to do the first saddles next week, but since we're doing Knotty Equine sessions, hopefully, dentals, & we'll be weaning calves, I'll probably hold off on that until the first part of the following week. - Lexy Nuesch

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
