TR: June 9

This week, we continued to work on Bend at the Walk, Vertical Flexion at the Standstill, Walk, & Trot, Stopping & Backing, Shoulder In/Out, Sidepassing, Two Tracking, Yielding the HQ, the Turnaround, Neck Reining, & the Cloverleaf Exercise. I also introduced Counterbending.

I've really noticed that he struggles to go to the left with his shoulder. It's very apparent during the turnaround & when loping circles that his right shoulder is almost stuck out. When you place a lot of focus on that, he tends to drift/swing his HQs to the right. So we've got some work to do in this area.

Today, he received a full-blown bath & he did great!

Next week, we'll continue to focus on body control, specifically with the shoulders & hindquarters.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
