TR: July 26

This week, we continue to ride out & about while getting him used to swinging the rope under saddle & dragging the sled. He did quite well with both. A little unsure about dragging the sled under saddle at first, but quickly came around. We also introduced the stock whip on the ground, which went well. He's had some exposure to the sound previously, as I've been using it with a few other client horses over the past few weeks. With the warm weather, it was also a great time to spend some time down at the creek as well.

Next week, we'll rope the dummy, drag the sled some more, & introduce the stock whip while in the saddle. I'll also bring out my large training ball; it's a great tool to use that moves & makes a noise & something that I can have the horses push around & gain confidence with.

Next week's update will be posted on Thursday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
