Slate: February 4

Slate has also continued to do well this week. We've continued to work on Flexing, Bend at the Walk (which has remained quite soft), Bending Transitions, Draw to a Stop, & Vertical Flexion at the Standstill. I've been asking for more effort while Backing with a good response.

We've also introduced Vertical Flexion at the Walk & Slate picked up on this very quickly!

Earlier this week, I noticed that Slate's poop was a bit looser than normal. Other than the temps dropping again & their pen mate Cactus being stalled away from them for a couple of days after receiving injections last week, nothing else has changed. To give him some gut support, I put him on D&D Nutrition's Advanced Gastric Support product, Equi-Mend, & he seems to be returning to normal.

Next week's forecast looks great at the moment, so the plan will be to head down the gravel roads to get some loping in, as well as ride through some pasture.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.
