Rowdy: October 14

A successful first saddle this week!

We've continued to work on Desensitizing to the Lead Rope & Stick & String, Yielding the Hindquarters & Forequarters, Backing, Lunging Stages 1 & 2, Flexing, Sending, & Circle Driving. Rowdy has gotten much softer & more confident this week.

On Tuesday, we did Rowdy's first saddle. He did great while turned out in the arena saddled for the afternoon. I don't think he took a step when I introduced Slapping the Saddle & Popping the Stirrups. Upon his saddling with the "good" saddle on Wednesday, he acted as if he'd been saddled for years. He's very much similar to Krimson, but with more forward motion, which is nice. The plan is to do the first rides on Sunday afternoon.

Dentals are scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, October 19, with my vet coming up in November for general evaluation, chiropractic, & acupuncture, if needed.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.
