Rosie: November 19

This week, I opted to hold off on doing Rosie's first saddle for one more week. We continued to work on Round Penning, Desensitizing, Yielding the HQ & FQ, Lunging Stage 1 & 2, Sending, & Circle Driving. I also introduced a relaxation/stretching exercise that will progress into some core conditioning & stretching exercises down the road. I liked her progress from the previous week & wanted to continue to foster that without the saddle. She's continuing to get softer & more secure & mentally with me rather than paying so much attention to the other horses around the place. This is something I wanted to see get a bit better before I put the snaffle bit on & work on Flexing. Her softness will directly affect her steering, which I recall you saying was poor to non-existent. Yesterday, she got her first bath here on what might be one of our last nice days. I'm fairly certain that she's been bathed before as she did quite well. We were running out of daylight so you'll see we had to settle for wet photos.

I expect to do her first saddle tomorrow & bridle. If I don't find many holes with that, my hope is to get a first ride done on Wednesday while it's nice. - Lexy Nuesch

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
