This week, Rosie continued to work on Round Penning, Desensitizing, Yielding the HQ & FQ, Lunging Stage 1, & Sending. I also introduced Circle Driving & Lunging Stage 2. Circle Driving started out pretty rough with her wanting to pull on me quite a bit, but by the end of the week, she started to get it figured out. As I mentioned last week, she tends to get a bit rushed, especially during Lunging. This week, she offered to walk off around me for the first time, which was great! Rosie's also been comfortable enough to lie down on multiple occasions. It's always fun to observe the horses from the security cameras in their pens.
Next week, we'll continue working on these groundwork exercises as well as do her "first" saddle. I hope to put her "first" ride on next weekend as well. - Lexy Nuesch
Next week's update will be posted on Sunday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
