Rosie: January 7

This week, we spent our time riding around the place. Early in the week, I introduced Rosie to spurs (she was unbothered by them), Bend at the Walk, & Bending Transitions. The early stages of those exercises went well. Because the ground/snow thawed & froze later in the week, it was a bit too slick to do Bending Transitions, so I began working on Vertical Flexion at the Standstill, Draw to a Stop, & Backing. It's obvious that she has a little understanding of each of these exercises from prior work. It won't take much to build upon these going forward. My husband & I were both under the weather towards the end of the week, so Rosie did have a couple of days off, but she saddled up & rode off with very little pre-ride groundwork today.

Next week's plans are a bit up in the air. I hope after the snow blows through tomorrow, we can get a couple of rides in before the colder temps arrive. Otherwise, I'll do some trimming & introduce Rosie to hobbles.
