Rosie: December 16

Early this week, we started with groundwork in the spot next to the arena where the dogs like to roam around through the weeds & trees. This has been something that's been startling the horses lately, so we've gone right to the source so the horses have a chance to check the area out & get used to the dogs wandering around as we do groundwork. This is also where my jumping logs are & these have been a great test of Rosie's groundwork skills. I plan to set up a camera next week during the nice weather to capture our work out here. At the end of the week, we got back into the arena to work on Flexing, One Rein Stops, & Cruising. She's done relatively well with these, though we're still working on her ability to bring that energy up & bring it down. While it's a natural response, she gets a smidge worried when I bend her down into a One Rein Stop. This is something that will get better & better as she understands we're just transitioning down to a stop & she'll get a release once her feet stop moving & she softens to my toe.
Equilab finally did an update, so I'm hoping that will resolve our issue with her training logs not showing up on your end. Please let me know if you're still not able to see anything within the calendar.
Next week, we'll continue to ride in the arena, spend a bit more time with groundwork outside of the arena, & I'll also be introducing her pulling a sled on the ground

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
