(We finally had an un-photogenic week. ๐ ) This week, we've continued to work on Bend at the Walk, Bending Transitions, & Vertical Flexion at the Standstill. I also introduced Draw to a Stop, which went fairly well once he understood what I was asking him to do. Today, I also introduced Backing for the first time. He was pretty resistant initially, so we spent a fair bit of time working on it. He became more busy-mouthed as we worked through this, but by the end, he was staying soft in his face & backing up much more willingly. This will come much easier next week after this first session. This week, I've also been riding him in the Missing Link Snaffle made by Pat Puckett. Roam seemed happier in this as he couldn't suck it back & chew on it like he could with a broken mouthpiece. He sure made use of the cricket as well.
The UniPrim arrived on Tuesday & Roam began his 10 days of it.
Next week, we'll continue to spend a bit of time in the arena working on these exercises but will begin to venture outside of the arena down the lane & gravel roads.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
