A good week for Roach! This week, Roach continued to work on our arena riding & also had his first outside ride as well, which couldn't have gone better!
As we discussed during your lesson, the only thing that I can pick on is his sensitivity to the cinch & once in a while, his tail. Otherwise, I'm pleased with how he's doing in every other area.
His first outside ride went very well. He was a bit "wiggly" from left to right, as you'll see in the videos, which is not uncommon for young horses during their early outside rides. Part of that is also because he's so light & responsive to the hackamore. He did also show some interest in wanting to go after the dogs a few times. Again, not uncommon for those first rides where the dogs are running about. He'll soon figure out that they're just minding their own business & he can do the same.
Next week, we'll continue to ride in the arena as well as get out & about down the gravel roads & in the pastures & see if we can play with the lay down a bit.

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
