Nelly was a rockstar out at Fort Robinson! While she started out the first ride taking in the scenery, she quickly put her nose down like an old broke trail horse. She got to work several gates, learned to place her feet over some tough & challenging terrain, & learned how to go up & down some serious hills. She led & followed with no issues & crossed water, She hauled & stalled well. I know the videos are a bit long, but if you have the time, I encourage you to watch them. Do note that the GoPro does distort & downplay just how steep some of the hills are, but after her final ride, where we took "Mule Trail," I wouldn't hesitate to take her on any type of terrain. Back home this week, we've been back to working on & reviewing our maneuvers & other exercises (stopping & backing, shoulder in/out, sidepassing, turnaround, etc.). Next week, we'll continue working on refining these exercises while also roping the dummy, dragging the sled, & cracking the stock whip. - Lexy Nuesch
Next week's update will be posted on Friday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
