Hickory: November 19

This week, we spent most of our time working on Pick Me Up From the Fence & towards the end of the week, Jeffrey's Method. He's definitely more unsure on that right side under saddle, but he's growing more at ease. He continues to be nice & soft in the halter & in the snaffle. I also introduced a relaxation/stretching exercise that will transfer to some core work as we continue to progress, both on the ground & under saddle. While I REALLY wanted to get rides on several horses this weekend, yesterday's weather was just too nice to pass on getting what might be our last good bath day. This worked out well as it rained here most of the day & ideally, I like to have at least 2-3 first rides in a row. We were loosing daylight so he is still a bit wet in his photos.

Next week, I'm going to spend a couple more days on Pick Me Up Off the Fence & Jeffrey's Method while also spending some time working him from off of another horse before we do first rides on Wednesday. We may do some ponying out & about as well.

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
