What another lovely week of extreme temps, snow, & wind. Hopefully, it's our last.
When it jumped up into the 20s on Wednesday, Hero got to work on a bit of softening his nose to the ground in the halter & asking for a few steps back. This is something that we've worked on a bit previously; however, once in a while, Hero will ignore the halter pressure or get a bit reactive to it. This is another way that I can work on his relationship to contact that will carry over to our work under saddle, especially while things were still slick & drifted.
Today, the wind switched from out of the northwest to out of the south, but at least the sun was out. The horses took advantage of it this afternoon to catch a nap.
Thankfully, we should see considerably "warmer" temps this week & much less wind so that we can get back to our normal schedule.
