Hero: December 3

This week, we continued to prepare for Hero's first ride through our groundwork exercises along with Pick Me Up Off the Fence. We continued to work on Run Up & Rub & revisited Leading Beside.

The "easy" first ride mare took a bit longer than anticipated this afternoon & had us running out of daylight so Hero's first ride got bumped to tomorrow (Monday). I expect to have the green light, but I foresee still having some stickiness with forward motion, so we may even move to the arena from the round pen. This evening, I had to capture a quick video to show just how much weight Hero has put on in the last month & a half.

Next week, we'll get Hero's first ride in the books. Pending how forward he is, we may move to the arena sooner than I do with most. In there, we'll work on Flexing, One Rein Stops, Yielding the HQ, & Cruising.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
