Cricket: September 2

This week, Cricket climbed out of her training dip & really ended the week at a high point! She's getting so soft & willing. We spent some time in the arena practicing what we'd be asked to do in the Pleasure class. We also got outside of the arena with some evening pasture rides. I've also been using a new saddle on her so that she can get used to the different feelings that a variety of saddles can bring since she was a bit reactive to August's saddle. With the decision to have her stay a couple more weeks, I pushed the training ball back to next week again, especially since it's looking like it'll be much cooler. Cricket's show debut went great! She handled the busy atmosphere, other horses running at & around her, & all of the banners on the fence quite well for her second outing aside from Fort Robinson. She got second in the class against a 3-year-old who's had significantly more riding & has spent significant time in the arena practicing. After the class, she couldn't have stood at the trailer any better. Relaxed & content to hang out. I was very pleased with how things went. I was hoping to have a video of the entire class for you, but Randy's phone ran out of storage mid-event. Next week, we'll spend a little bit of time in the arena but will primarily continue to ride outside. We'll also get the large training ball out & push that around. - Lexy Nuesch

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
