Cricket: June 23

This week, Cricket started riding in the snaffle bit & was introduced to spurs for the first time at the end of the week. She was unbothered by the spurs. She's not been quite as light as she was in the hackamore & has had a tendency to get her tongue under the bit when we're actively working. This isn't uncommon at this stage, though. We've been reviewing our current exercises - One Rein Stops, Cruising, Figure-Eights at the Walk & Trot, & Loping Circles as she learns to carry the bit better. I've moved to a different bit that works a bit better with her smaller mouth.

Next week, we'll begin to work on Bend at the Walk & Bending Transitions.

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
