Cricket: July 21

Another good week with Cricket! We've continued to ride out & about in preparation for our Fort Robinson trip. With some of her initial reactivity to the saddle, I truly expected to have to work through a few reactive or surprised moments outside of the arena, but she has done great. Unbothered by the dogs following close, not worried about the cattle whatsoever, & rides confidently over the culverts in the lane. She's improved greatly with her Vertical Flexion at the Standstill. She still has a bit of resistance with Draw to a Stop (asking her to stop with two reins with softness) & Backing is going quite nicely. In addition to our other exercises, I've introduced Vertical Flexion at the Walk, which has gone well.

Next week's update will be posted on Wednesday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
