Hope you're having a good 4th of July weekend!
This week, we've spent much of our time outside of the arena building upon Cody's Vertical Flexion at all gaits, but specifically at the lope, while also working on transitions, stopping, & neck reining. I really like how Cody feels riding in a shank bit & he's getting better & better with neck reining.
While out riding the gravel roads on Wednesday, the neighbors' cattle curiously came running up to the fence line. Cody got a bit worried about that, but once we walked down in the ditch to get a closer look at them, he was more comfortable. I'll be sure to spend a fair bit of time riding through our cattle.
Next week, we'll continue to refine Cody's softness while also beginning to work on some hindquarter control.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.
I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
