Cody: April 7

I hope you get to enjoy the nice weather this weekend! We're hopeful that we saw our last snow this past Tuesday & Wednesday. This next week looks to be a nice change from our cool weather, with temps reaching 80°.

This week has been a bit of a groundwork review week for Cody. While we absolutely could have saddled up right away, I wanted to work him on the ground to get a feel for how he travels so I'll have a better baseline should he get sore. This also gets him in the training frame of mind & in the groove of being worked frequently.

We worked on Desensitizing, Yielding the HQ & FQ, Flexing, Backing, Lunging Stages 1 & 2, Circle Driving, & Sending. I also introduced the Balance through Movement Method™Pillar 1, which Cody did well with. We even got some nice releases & yawning.

Overall, he did pretty well. A few stiff areas with some antsy-ness, but that's improved each day.

Next week, we'll begin working on Leading by the Feet & the Lay Down in preparation for hobbling while we have a dry round pen.

Next week's update will be posted on Saturday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
