Cody: April 28

I hope you guys got a little rain over there this week! We received a much-needed .50" yesterday.

This week, my equine dentist was out to work on horses. He said that Cody was a pretty straightforward textbook float. He did need bit seats done & his canines reduced as well.

As far as training, we've continued to work on Flexing, Bend at the Walk, Vertical Flexion at the Walk & Trot, Stopping, & Backing. I've also begun to ask for more shoulder control. He's gotten much softer & quicker in his response. While he still has some moments where wants to push against the bit, he's gotten much more automatic at immediately getting soft. At times, he wants to get a little anxious when I put him in a bind & ask for a bit more effort, but that should improve with time.

Next week, we'll continue to focus on getting softer & improving his shoulder control.

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
