Cody: April 19

It was a short but good week here for Cody:

On Monday, we practiced our trailer loading/unloading. Aside from a very minor hesitation at first, he's been loading & unloading great!

On Tuesday, we went up to see Jen at Knotty Equine. I had been noticing that Cody was a bit apprehensive about being touched up by his poll & would try to evade contact in that area. Sure enough, Jen was able to find & address the issue, which is likely compensation for his right hind leg that got scraped up. He sure gave us some good releases while being worked on. I wish I had captured it on video! Overall, Cody didn't have too much that needed to be addressed during this session.

Here are the notes that I took:

- C5-C7 & T1 on R side

- L poll

- held down behind withers (likely contributes to how rough he is at the lope, but Jen thought it could be helped through training & stretches)

Jen gave me these exercises to do with Cody:

- Head/Neck Stretches

- Hind Hip Drop/Bounce

- Tail Exercises

- Belly Lift/Cat Stretch

- Lexy Nuesch

Next week's update will be posted on Friday.

I do my best to get these updates posted in a timely manner, but it's not uncommon for me to be outside until after dark, depending on the weather, my schedule, & who gets worked when so updates will sometimes be posted quite late in the evening. Don't be alarmed if you don't see your update right away. In rare cases, I may have to push them until the next morning, but I'll reach out & let you know if so.
