A week of bareback rides & more ground-tying for Cactus.
During our bareback rides this week, I rode Cactus in a lariat-nose hackamore. He seemed to enjoy not having anything in his mouth to fiddle with & rode well.
We've continued to work on ground tying & he's been doing well. On occasion, he wants to hook onto me as I'm walking around, mainly when I come around on his right side. A simple correction to let him know I don't need him to follow me & he's content to stand again. When I am finally ready for him to walk off with me, I make sure that I make it obvious by clucking continuously.
